The Porsche 911 Turbo is an amazing car, and from the factory comes with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 500 PS and 651 Nm of torque. This power was plenty enough for the tuners at Vorsteiner, however they are well known to push cars to the limit in terms of exterior styling. For this project, the tuning company installed their own body kit to improve the aerodynamics, and gave this Porsche 911 its full potential. It consists of a custom front fascia featuring new air intakes, side skirts, new rear bumper, and diffuser underneath. A larger spoiler was swapped out with the stock piece, saving weight with the new carbon fiber design and providing extra downforce for all that power.

Next, came the monoblock aluminum rims wrapped in high performance Michelin PS2 tires for the Porsche 911 Turbo. Vorsteiner added LED daytime running lights that can be found in the front bumper. The diffuser also allows the custom exhaust to fit perfect and give this Porsche a unique sound. Check out the video of the sexy 911 Turbo below.

2010 Porsche Panamera Sport Technology Cars Advanced

2010 Porsche PanameraPersonalizing a Porsche is nothing new and, with tuning kits from TechArt and Mansory, anyone is able to customize their luxury sportscar to their heart’s desire. Now, Porsche has added yet another option for making the Panamera as individualized as the owner himself. Porsche has announced that starting September, customers will be able to choose a new Individualization Program for the Panamera Turbo. The program includes a new Powerkit that increases the engine’s output to 540 HP (up from the standard 500HP) and a new Sport Design Package.

The Powerkit consists of two new turbochargers with titanium aluminum turbine wheels. The new kit, with Sport Plus mode, will sprint your car from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and will rocket the car to a top speed of 189 mph. However, that added speed will set you back $21,730.

The Sport Design Package will be available starting October and includes a unique, exterior color painted front end with widened black air intake grilles, separate side skirts, and the standard, exterior color painted rear underbody apron with diffuser and fins. This package is definitely the cheaper, but less entertaining choice at $4,590. Porsche is also offering a set of 20" light alloy multi-spoke wheels, available in silver metallic, black, or in the car color for a bargain price of $1,390.

Is this the most entertaining and money-worthy package available for the Porsche Panamera Turbo? We certainly don’t think so, but if the Porsche owner wants a slight change instead of the high-powered, aesthetically pleasing kits provided by the tuning firms mentioned earlier, then this is the deal for them.

Ferrari investigating fire incidents with the 458 Italia

We’re not the least bit surprised that after having reported on an inordinate number of Ferraris catching fire under suspicious circumstances, we finally learn that Ferrari has been keeping tabs on all these incidences, and in response, is looking into the potential issues – and subsequent mess – they’ve found themselves in.

To date, at least 10 Ferrari 458 Italias have either crashed or burned down and the Prancing Horse is investigating on whether these incidents, specifically the fire-related ones, came as a result of driver’s error or whether it’s manufacturer-related.

According to a Ferrari spokesman who spoke to the Daily Telegraph, the company is taking the measures needed to learn more about these incidents and determine where the issues are. “We are taking all the reports very seriously and are looking into them but we are treating them all as separate incidents," he said.

The spokesperson also noted, in an interview with ‘Just Auto’, that “it is important to differentiate between what is a vehicle fire and outside factors and I would include driver error. Six have been incidents where it potentially could be the driver or other factors.”

We can’t fault Ferrari for acting all defensive with this because it’s certainly something that should be taken seriously. We’re just hoping that whatever problems this otherwise beautiful car has can be resolved as quickly as possible.

New Alfa Romeo Mito Small But Perfectly Formed

Cars that are smaller and more efficient can also be more desirable. Alfa Romeo hopes proof can come in the form of their MiTo, one of the new breed of small yet desirable sporty premium compact models. Aimed at the MINI but offering greater practicality, value and high street wow factor, this Italian alternative is attracting a loyal following. To understand why, we've been taking a look at the efficient Multijet II diesel variant.

It took a long time for the market to see a product that properly competed with BMW\'s MINI. That car proved that European drivers were prepared to pay quite a premium for something three-door and compact, provided it was stylish, sporty and had the right brand cachet. Step forward Alfa Romeo\'s MiTo. Thirty years ago, enthusiasts on real world budgets dreamed of an Italian car packing all of Alfa\'s heritage and spirit into a four-metre length - and realised it with the iconic Alfasud. Today, the MiTo should satisfy their kids in exactly the same way.

We should start by explaining the name, combining as it does the first two letters of Milan (where Alfa Romeo was conceived) and Turin - or in Italian \'Torino\' - (where the cars are currently made). It\'s also the Italian for ‘myth', or legend, a nod to the ambitious future the brand has in mind that will see this model leading an ambitious charge to double its volume to 300,000 cars a year. Yes, this is a lot cheaper than the larger Alfa Romeos we\'re used to, but it's also still pretty profitable given that the money to develop its underpinnings and engines was already spent a few years ago on this model's close cousin, Fiat\'s Grande Punto. Fortunately for potential buyers, the two cars have a very different feel thanks to the MiTo-specific steering, seating, suspension and brakes. Its engines are tuned differently too and of course, there are these unique looks. So far so good.

So, to what an Alfa should be about - the driving experience. Even in this modestly-powered 95bhp diesel version, first impressions are good. You sit lower than you would in the Fiat Grande Punto that shares this car's basic structural and oily bits. But shouldn't an Alfa have its own unique engine? Sadly, in the modern world, that idea makes no sense at this price point but the Milanese engineers have done a good job in tweaking the powerplants that are available to give them some high-revving, sweet-sounding Alfa-like character. Or at least they have in the Multiair petrol models. There's only so much you can do with a diesel but this 1.3 JTDm-2 unit is certainly impressive, meeting the latest Euro 5 emissions legislation, yet offering a 0-62mph acceleration time of 11.6s.

The new car takes its name from the abbreviations of two Italian cities: Milan, the city with a car style underway, and Turin, which will be responsible for its industrial production. The first new Alfa Romeo to be built since the 8C Competizione, Mi.To borrows some features of its larger “halo” brothers and sisters: the shape of the frame side windows, treatment distinctive front, the shape of the headlights and LED taillights. The contemporary design is a long 4060mm, 1440mm to 1720mm high and wide.

Inside, a very personal “dashboard and seats are said to ensure the” ultimate expression of Italian style “for the interior. It is required to embrace a sport, with quality materials and attention to detail, all packaged in a compact size and dynamic form.

The new car should be available on European markets from July this year.

Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid

Porsche has confirmed on Wednesday that it will build the Porsche 918 Spyder, initially gone public earlier this year as a concept at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show. The German automaker said the production version of the high-performance hybrid will be assembled in limited numbers at its home plant in Zuffenhausen, just outside Stuttgart. An official statement released Wednesday said the company has received an "overwhelming response" from the public to the Porsche 918 Spyder concept. Earlier reports indicated Porsche had received expressions of interest from more than 900 buyers. Porsche did not specify a production start-up date or a price tag, although widespread media reports in Europe have suggested the sticker could exceed $600,000.
